Don’t we all just love a summer craft festival? Well here’s a very special one for you. Argyll is set to host their Gaelic Wool Festival, Feis Cothlam 2013, from 18th to 20th July in Benderloch and around Oban. It promises to be a woolly spectacular with stalls, displays, workshops and demonstrations galore. Thursday will find the market in full swing, showcasing local produce at its best and the Friday will see the Festival playing host to a Mongolian Fibre Art Cultural visit with a talk and a film in Benderloch’s Victory Hall.
Whether your interest lies in spinning, knitting, felting, dyeing or any one of dozens of other wool based crafts and hobbies, you’re sure to have a great day out at the Feis. It looks like it’ll be an excellent opportunity to try your hand at something new or to pick up some of those beautiful hand dyed yarns that you’ve been promising yourself.
If any of you take a trip to Argyll and attend the Festival, do comment to let me know what you got up to.
