Hair:Leala’s hair reaches her mid-back and would most likely be longer if it were straight. Her hair is very curly, in intricate ringlets covering her hair. She keeps her golden locks contained and controlled with a circlet of ivory with light carvings of rosebuds around its circumference.
Eyes: Leala’s eyes can be said to go beyond simple gray. There lies a shimmer to them that makes them seem almost metallic silver in direct lighting. Her eyes are dark silver in dimmer lights and hold no visible emotion when dealing with the public. Only those who have gained her trust will see any spark of feeling in them.
Skin:Leala’s skin is a pale color, only a few shades away from a pearly white, bearing no freckles or imperfections.

Voice:Leala’s voice is not the highest soprano, but it is still smooth and intelligent, and like her eyes, it betrays no emotion. She was trained in politics and Daes Dae'mar since before she joined as a Novice and knows that verbal communication is an art as well as non-verbal.
Personality:Leala was raised in the House of Gymorraine in Caemlyn until she was recruited as a Novice, so even before entering the Tower, she knew a great bit about shielding oneself emotionally. By calmly discussing things, she can discern words' true meanings and what her companion wants to hear and perhaps how she can manipulate what she says to benefit both sides. After her training as a novice and Accepted, she has accepted that she has flaws and weaknesses. Some can be mended, others are simply a part of who she is. When she finds that her trust can be given to someone, she is loyal to this friend, and will defend them to the best of her ability. As an Aes Sedai, however, the only thing that can take precedence over her precious friends is the White Tower and those she serves from its connection.
Weaknesses:Knowledge Weakness: Leala keeps very few friends, but those that she keeps are very close to her. When she deals with sisters of another Ajah who may have had the potential to be a friend, she pushes them away if she notices even one sign of what she considers to be infidelity. Physical Weakness: Leala sometimes has difficulty breathing if she engages in physical labor for too long. Personality weakness: Leala is by no means cold to her friends, but she seems stuck up to others because of her strict expectations of who she gives her trust to.

History

History
Leala was born the first daughter of House Gymorraine in Andor. While her family was not in line for any kind of throne, they were rather influential in the Court of Caemlyn. This exposed the young girl to the Great Game at a very young age. She quickly took up what to say and when to say it, that the dealings of this court really were a game to be won and lost. She had a very small part in all of it, but she was intelligent enough to pick up on the adults’ interactions. When she was thirteen, an Aes Sedai wearing a blue shawl came to the Court. She took immediate note of Leala’s calm and intelligent personality and had a conversation with her. She gave her a few mental tests, one involving a blue stone for concentration, and decided that she had the ability to open herself to saidar, but that she was too young to be a novice quite yet. The Aes Sedai promised to either return in a year’s time or to send another sister to hear her decision.

In that year, Leala studied all she could on the White Tower and dealings of the Aes Sedai. Since she had an older brother, it was most likely that she would be married off to someone in a political marriage if she were stay there. She wanted to be part of something more than that, and the White Tower seemed to fit the bill. When the Aes Sedai came back after Leala had turned fourteen, she gave her affirmative decision to enroll in the Tower as a novice.

It took her a while to become accustomed to the work as a novice, but she never complained or strayed from her duties. Unlike the other girls, she never had any desire to break the rules. She valued how the sisters saw her over how her fellow novices did. It would be the Aes Sedai that she would be dealing with when she was finally raised to the shawl.

As an Accepted, she tolerated no nonsense from her students and helped guide novices with the same rigid technique she used to teach. She studied histories, political intrigues, and even logic with Whites. She opened herself to the possibility that she had weaknesses as her Arches had taught her and learned quickly. After ten years of studying under the Tower’s guidance, she was called to her testing for the Shawl.

At the end of the test, she was exhausted, hurt, and ready to sleep, but none of this showed on her face or countenance. She had passed her test and the next morning, she swore her Oaths and entered the White Ajah.

Being a student of life, Leala learned more and more every day, not just of logic. She took all of her other interests and applied it to her logic and her own beliefs as she normally did. She has worn the shawl for over sixty years now and continues to serve the Tower in new ways every day.

One day in particular, Leala discovered that she was experiencing a very detailed and realistic dream, unlike many of her others. When she thought of herself in one place, the world blurred and she was there. But it was this place in every detail, not a shifting, fickle things as were normally in her dreams. She read notes on her theories, and a few nights later, she found herself in the same situation. She noticed different things this time around. Her clothes would change according to her thoughts, and people would flash in and out. The flickering people were the thing that made her realize that she was a Dreamwalker. She was in tel’aran’rhiod. The fact made her smile. She had a new way to serve the world.

Accepted Interview:

Part 1 – Out of Character
1.1. Which Ajah do you aspire to join and why?

Leala is aspiring to a White. She loves to use her mind and lets logic rule her every thought. She uses this to her advantage in nearly every situation, including choosing her Ajah. Even in her composure, she is most like a White Sister, never letting emotion slip into her expressions nor do they cloud her thoughts.

1.2. How old would you place your Aes Sedai in the Main Timeline? Remember that Sitters must be at least 90 years of Age to sit in the Hall. (Information on the Aes Sedai Aging system is on both the Website and the WT Structure Board)

1.3. Have you role-played with any members of your aspiring Ajah? If so, who? What sort of impact did that member have on your character?

Unfortunately, I have not roleplayed with any of my intended Ajah. It seems like a lot of the Whites are on LoA.

1.4. Define freely what your character sees to be her Ajah’s purpose? Does if differ from the norm?

Leala sees the Whites as the Ajah of logic and philosophy. In many ways, it is very closely related to the Brown Ajah, she believes. Being that her most basic philosophy is the old adage “knowledge is power”, she takes any knowledge she finds and uses it to her advantage, using her Light-given strength in logic, applying it as logic would dictate. Thus, she would take the knowledge that the Browns preserve so lovingly and apply the White’s logic and philosophy to better the Tower.

1.5. What kind of a role would you like your character and you OOCly to have in your Ajah and in the White Tower?

While Leala is a White through and through, she also finds it logical to leave the Tower on occasion if need be. Either for research, to help another Sister, or simply if the White Tower bids she go on an excursion. Another philosophy of Leala’s is that every experience is a good one. In the Tower, she would work closely with the Browns, applying logic to their knowledge and leading it in the right direction. This logical and impartial advice could be applied to any Ajah and any problem as well, spreading wherever the need takes it.

Part 2 – In Character Development
2.1. What kind of a woman was your character when she was enrolled as a novice and what kind of a woman is she now?

Leala was a special girl when she enrolled as a Novice. She believed that she knew exactly where she was going, and if she did not, she would find out soon enough. She trusted in the Tower and the Aes Sedai to help her along her own path that she saw for herself.

Leala now knows that while she may have a good handle on herself, others will always surprise her. There are things to be learned every day and it is one’s reactions to them that count. She still trusts the Tower to know what is best, but also knows that it is up to her to make the best of it and now help the Tower in its mission within her own limits.

2.2. What have been the most important, defining events in her life and how have they changed her? Separate the events to life before the Tower, life as novice and life as Accepted. Who are the people that have affected her life the most as Novice and as Accepted and how have they done that?

Before she arrived at the Tower, the most important even in Leala’s life was her testing. Before then, she was the second born child in a noble family and knew that if things did not change soon, she would be destined to live her life in a political marriage simply to suit her family’s needs. When she was tested and it was found that she could learn to channel, she set out to learn anything she could of the White Tower before she arrived there. She still thanks the Light for that day and hopes to find her piece of the Pattern as the Wheel wills.

As a Novice, the most defining event for her was gaining her two roommates. Up until that point, she had only interacting with people on a very political level, representing her family in all her actions. Her roommates challenged her to offer them comfort, change her words according to their mood, and most important of all, be a friend.

As an Accepted, the largest event that happened was the news of the death of her father. Leala’s father played an important role in her upbringing before she left for the Tower. He saw that her mother and brother were not willing to give emotional support in her future, and he was there to be a friend when she needed one. He was perhaps her first friend in life, and the news of his death while she was immersed in her studies and unable to say goodbye properly broke down her emotional barriers and caused her become a weeping, vulnerable, flawed girl. She had maintained her composure in all her years in the tower until that moment when she was alone and allowed to weep freely.

2.3. What are your character’s weaknesses? Strengths? What is her inner struggle? What is her philosophy of life?

While Leala has had friends, she still has issues with trust. Even when with her father and her roommates, she was mostly closed and cold. She offered smiles to her students as an Accepted for encouragement, but would never allow herself to get too close to them.

Leala’s strengths lie in using her mind. She can close out emotion and suppress unwanted memories for the sake of logic. While a Novice and Accepted, her favorite place was always the Library. There, she could read what she wanted, draw her own conclusions, and exercise her mind on whatever she wanted. She never lets her mind stay idle.

Her inner struggle lies again, with her issues in trust. She sees alliances being forged and bonds being made, and many different dealings in love and trust all around her, and wonders why she finds it so difficult to trust someone. She knows that a large part of it had to do with her upbringing in the Court of Caemlyn where she could not even trust the majority of her own family. And still, when she is faced with a potential alliance, she is reluctant to take the next step toward trust because she knows that everyone is flawed and human, including her.

Leala has many philosophies in life. Her most used philosophy is that “knowledge is power”, as mentioned before. She applies it to a more specific philosophy that “knowledge enhances logic”. This is why one of her favorite places is the Library of the White Tower. She cannot think of any one situation where the presence of knowledge has ever weakened her logical prowess.

2.4. What three words best describe your character’s personality?

Cold. Logical. Careful.

Part 3 – The Role of an Aes Sedai
3.1. What do you think the role of an Aes Sedai is ICly?

The role of an Aes Sedai varies greatly on the Sister involved in the plot given her position in the Tower, her strength in the One Power, and her talents. to the base of it, though, an Aes Sedai is a Servant to All. She is there to serve the world and see to it that her all her actions benefit the greater good and the plight of the Tower.

3.2. What has been the greatest sacrifice your character has made to become an Aes Sedai?

Leala’s greatest sacrifice was not being there for the death of her father. She knew that something like it would come up, and the possibility even presented itself in her Arches. However, when she receieved the news that her father had died, she knew that she had missed his burial, and even if she hadn’t, she wouldn’t have been able to attend anyway. She regretted not even knowing that he had fallen ill, and she regretted not being able to say goodbye or be there for his final moments. However, she takes solace in the fact that he loved her and knew that she had other obligations, and that he wanted her to be happy above all else.

3.3. How is your character going to Serve All?

Leala can work even more closely with the Browns when she is raised. She can apply her logic to their knowledge and help the world solve the mysteries of its history. She can also go to her White Sisters and apply a second pair of eyes if need be. While her role as a White stays mostly in the Tower, Leala sees no flaws in the reasoning that going out into the world to help where she is needed. In this, she can experience what she has learned first hand, and help her Sisters of different Ajahs.

3.4. What would you like your character to achieve? What are her ambitions in life? What kind of RP plans do you have in mind for your Sister?

Leala thrives in politics and the Game of Houses, and has always felt at home in the dealings of such with Aes Sedai. As a Sister, she could be a great asset to her Ajah, and I would like her to become a Sitter eventually. As a Sitter, she would be able to apply her two loves for the betterment of her Sisters and for the Tower. As a Dreamwalker, with the approval of her training, I would like her to do research in the World of the Dreaming not only for the Tower’s sake, but for others that may have the Talent later on.

3.5. How does your character feel about Warders in general and of the whole bonding?

Leala finds Warders very practical. One cannot serve all without facing dangers, as the testing for the ring and the shawl dictate. And it is logical that a Sister will face dangers that her abilities in the One Power cannot protect her. She plans on bonding one day, but she will need to open up and trust her future Gaidin first.
